In 1990 she was transferred by her employer, Burr-Brown Corp. (now Texas Instruments Inc.), to the marketing department of their Tucson headquarters. She had her first daughter at TMC in 1993 and chose to be a stay-at-home mom. Her second baby, was born in 1997. Both girls were nursed until well into their second year of life. |
Upon the birth of her daughter, TJ quit her job in aerospace and became a full time June Cleaver! Her second little Angel-from-Heaven arrived 3 years later. Needless to say, both were breastfed until they weaned themselves and toddled off to new culinary adventures! Her husband, Phil, was transferred to Tucson in 1994 and they have lived here ever since. |

Since then, they have helped over 200 clients achieve a positive birth experience. In 2003 they became professionally trained Postpartum Doulas. In both these capacities, they found that they needed additional training to help moms with ‘first-latch’ and the early breastfeeding experience. That began a series of classes, seminars and conferences that culminated in the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant designation earned in October 2009. Also known as Registered Lactation Consultants in the U.S, they continue to strive to offer the highest level of evidence based care available. In 2004, University Medical Center hired them to facilitate the new UMC “Mommy to Mommy Breastfeeding Support Group”. TJ and Sibylle facilitated this group for the next four years. They then started their own “Mama’s Latte Breastfeeding Support Group” to provide continued care for their in-home clients. In 2008 they dissolved the support group to devote themselves full-time to teaching breastfeeding and supporting the constantly growing number of in-home clients. |
